Welcome to Talya’s (Pronounced like Talia) blog.
Why does it exist? In October 2025 I undertook a challenge to walk 62 miles during that month to raise money for Refuge. While part of the private Facebook I posted a little video introduction to Talya. Then an update, and another, and well… a lot more over the weeks
I’d not intended it to be a ongoing thing, but it did, so this Blog exists to continue it past October and Onwards.
But who are you? I’m Talya, at the time of writing (Oct 2025) I am a 48 year old Trans Woman. I came out late in life. 17th Sept 2024 was when my old shell could no longer carry me, and I needed to take over. I’m grateful to him for protecting and carrying me for so long.
March 17th 2025 marked the day I (with the help of my amazing sister) first plunged a needle of GnRH (testosterone blocker) into myself and applied my first Estrogen patch.
I’m a massive geek, love my Sci Fi, Fantasy, computers, roleplaying games and such. Also love to wander and explore, forever going onwards.
Okay the the Why and Who, what about the What? This blog will continue what I was doing while doing the Refuge challenge. It will be thoughts, stories, encouragement, exploration, questions and likely a little soul searching.
Mostly me sprinkling kindness into the aether and hoping it will drift out and make a little corner of the world a just the bit brighter. Onwards.
That’s the third time you’ve used “Onwards” what gives? Not sure why, or how, but its ended up as a bit of a catchphrase. I’ve always wondered what I’d say if I sat in the big chair of a Federation Starship, but now I do…
